September 13, 2003 - 6:19 AM TV on DVD on TV For those of you who enjoy your cool television, and who really enjoy your television on DVD, there's good news out there. Lots of good news. First off, Homicide:Life on the Streets already has its first two seasons out in one box set, and season three is right around the corner. This, my favorite season of a great show, will be available at the end of October. Also out at the end of October is the season two box set (finally!) of Farscape, a Sci-Fi Network tv show that just ran its fourth and final season this past year. One of the most well done, thrilling, imaginative, hilarious, thought-provoking, and touching series out there. For the two of you who I know are big fans, the Upright Citizens Brigade will be coming to DVD stores near you fairly soon. They just recorded commentary tracks for season one yesterday, I believe. Be prepared for the spastically outrageous. Oh, and, humans rule, so dolphins can suck it. Another special announcement for those same two guys is the release of Mystery Science Theater's new collection of episodes which includes...*fanfare*...Overdrawn at the Memory Bank! It's finally coming. Huzzah! Thrill as Raul Julia thinks! Be confused when he's interfaced! One more thing. Aqua Team Hunger Force will be coming out for you too. Umm...Buffy season 5 comes out in December (I still haven't bought seasons 3 or 4!) on the same day as the complete run of Firefly, Joss Whedon's cowboy space opera. I've read that Firefly is now a go to become a feature film; I'm curious to see if they include the 3 unaired episodes in the dvd set. The West Wing's first season is finally coming to DVD later this fall as well. If you're fan of the snapper patter on this show, or you are a nut for ESPN's SportsCenter, track down the show Sports Night on DVD. You'll be glad you did. Best news of all, though, is the upcoming release of Seasons 1 and 2 of NewsRadio sometimes next year, probably around February. Thanks to fan response on the Columbia/Sony website, they've decided to make the bestest comedy available to us all. Now ALL our refridgemators can be messy. So, so messy. donkey donkey donkey donkey. So what if I sound like I'm shilling for the DVD sellers? You can't constrain or contain my enthusiasm for this stuff. Just send me money to shut me up.
