September 29, 2005 - 6:10 PM Pent and Repent Were Sitting on a Fence... Does anyone else feel like the end times are upon us? When I drove back from S.F. on Labor Day weekend, I saw fires in the hills north of the San Fernando valley and Los Angeles. Helicopters flitted in and out like mosquitos, while fire trucks and ambulances marched up narrow passes like ants. And now there are fires in Chatsworth, where Tony's parents used to live. Fires that can be smelt down here, 20 miles away. Fires that leave a beautiful and unnatural cloud cover over the west side of the Valley. Hurricanes pounding the shores of the southeast, typhoons and earthquakes around the Indian Ocean. And more human turmoil than you can shake a fist at. No? Yeah, I guess this shit happens all the time, I just tend to not pay attention unless it's on my doorstep or splattered all over the news. Carry on then. Carry on. Now Listening To : Afro-Celt Soundsystem- Volume 3 Random Thought : C'mon, a citywide blackout in L.A. and insane rain don't count as signs of the apocalypse?
