November 09, 2006 - 5:17 PM I Hear Music, and It Makes Me Smile I know I'm supposed to be telling you about how Liz and I celebrated our 3 month anniversary by taking her doggie out to Big Bear for a hike and how the elevation got me all out of breath; or how we went to see Flushed Away and I laughed really hard at a part that probaby wasn't all that funny and she looked at me weird but that's ok; and how we went for a hike in the Angeles Crest with her schoolmates, then had a big late lunch in West Hollywood, and topped it off by going to my show's premiere party for the Halloween episode at some lavish club at the Hollywood and Highland complex. But I'm not gonna. Because I have to gush about Priscilla Ahn. I finally got around to seeing her again, this time at Largo, and *gah*, I think she's a new favorite. Gracing the stage solo this time, she filled up the room by using her loop pedal to great effect in most of her songs, doubling up guitar parts, harmonizing with herself, adding bits of filigree on harmonica and glockenspiel. She is a talented, talented girl. And so young! I don't think she's even 23! In much the way I did with Ferraby Lionheart, I purchased many copies of her EP for you out there who want a taste of this aural ambrosia. Let me know if you want one. One thing that amused me was how much she looks like my boss's teenage daughter, only 10 years older. She'll be back to her old stomping grounds, the Hotel Cafe, on December 7th, and then is doing a residency there in January. Y'all should come out if you can! Now Listening To : Priscilla Ahn- E.P. Random Thought : So busy. Too busy. Why don't you write an entry about how my life is going? What I Just Wrote Before - What I'm About to Write
