One and a Half Months

It's been a month and a half. Today, Liz told me that it feels like it's been longer than that. Not in a "it's been interminable" way, but more in the "wow, we've moved through several stages of dating already, and we've graduated from saying 'hey boy' and 'hey girl' to 'hey boyfriend' and 'hey girlfriend', and it's only been 1 and a half months?" kinda way.

Oh, right, yeah, her name is Liz.

So, we see each other 3 or 4 times a week. Mostly i go over to her place and have dinner and play with her doggie and look at my baseball scores (she doesn't mind. too much) and read Harry Potter. It was either start reading Harry Potter or Ender's Game while she works on a field paper for her graduate program. Reading is fun! I guess most of you knew that already...it took me hanging out with a girl who doesn't have cable to remember what it's like to read.

It also helps in the hanging out at her place that she lives just a few miles away from my new place of employment. Since the commute for me from my apartment to work is around 18 miles and takes an hour to traverse in the morning, I like to just waltz over to her place when work is finished so that I can avoid traffic.

What is this new work? Well, I've signed a confidentiality agreement, and I fear that they will be more strict about it than my last job, but I can drop a few hints. I work on the Fox studio lot in Century City on their longest running tv show. You'll be able to figure it out if I haven't already told you.

The job is still taking shape, as they kinda created the position out of necessity, and as new things pop up, I'll be taking some of the reins over on those projects. But as is, I'm actually using my brain and doing work and having to plan things out several days in advance, and boy is that a change from the last job. Challenging, daunting, rewarding.

Yeah, things are going well. And busy. Oh, and for the one week where I was unemployed and anxious, I was also house-ridden and suffering from some flu or something. Not the best week of my life. And certainly not the way you want to spend a week off.

How are you?
