She Likes Me, She Likes Me Not

It's so on. It's so off. I need a flower with petals to play this game.

Suffice it to say, I had resigned myself to a closed book when she didn't get back to me on Monday, even after I had emailed her to see if she wanted to hang out that night. And further non-communication on Tuesday, plus talks with Phil, Tony, Margaret, and one of my friends in the office who has been my daily confidant on this, led me to say "I am done with her."

So what happens on Wednesday, after I've started looking at online profiles again and contacted someone who almost immediately replies? Why, i get an apologetic email from The Girl, saying she decided to leave her computer off this weekend in order to unplug and just enjoy the holiday. She summarized how her weekend went, and then asked me what my plans are for the next few days.

I was on the phone with Mark at the time, and the utterations of disbelief, intermixed with a few quiet,awed profanities, went on for a little bit before I read the email. Paroxysms of confusion and delight fought through my body as I paced around my apartment, fell onto my bed, squatted on my chair, and on and on. My mind raced...what to do?

The clear-headed among us (that being everyone but me) has said "hoorah" and "well, aren't you going to respond?" Yes I did respond. And I'm excited. And wary. Let's hope we get to see her before we leave on Wednesday for the East Coast.

In the meantime, what to do about the other girl who responded online?

Maryland and DC from the 12th through the 15th, Massachusetts from the 16th through the 20th. I've still got a few open days. Who wants to do stuff?
