Incredibles, So Good

Sorry about the long-winded entry yesterday. I just had lots to say and forgot to put on my editing cap. I'll make this one short.

Go see The Incredibles.

Nick convinced me to go along with him to a midnight screening last night. I think we both didn't have much knowledge of the story's plot, and I know that I wasn't bouncing out of my pants with anticipation waiting to see it. I'm not sure why I wasn't more excited because like most of you out there, I'm just a big ol' fan of all of Pixar's movies.

Despite the no expectations (and my tired body's reluctance to be out in public at such a late hour), Nick and I both had a blast in the packed theater. The story was engaging and well-paced, the action sequences were astounding, the characters and jokes were fresh and funny. A lot of the use of the heroes' powers were creative beyond the norm, and I found myself cheering internally a couple times when I thought of a different way to use a power and then I saw it happen in the very next sequence.

No grating, annoying "famous actor" voices to take away from the pleasure of this movie (Albert Brooks, Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, I'm looking in your direction); and if it's possible, I *heart* Holly Hunter even more after this movie.
