October 16, 2003 - 7:40 AM Who Are You? Do I Know You? A nice little thing that Diaryland allows me to do as the owner of this diary is to see the host ISPs from which all my little readers come to visit me, as well as the referral links they use. Like, when I visit my diary entry to see how unintelligible my writing is, I see the host entry as this: AC9E6C50.ipt.aol.com Now, what's interesting is I am able to suss out who my regular readers are because some of the ISPs give city and state designations as part of the IP addresses. So someone whose host has "lsanca" in the address is using a provider located in LoS ANgeles, CAlifornia. Dig? Thus, I can see when M pops in from Aberdeen, Y logs on in Baltimore, Rob takes a peek via Pittsburgh, etc. And I can see that my brother and sister don't log on at all from Beantown (go sox). Losers. But lately, I've gotten some new returning readers, which is pretty spazzytastic. I think I know who they are based on their Host addresses, but I'm not sure. One's from Arlington, and I believe he's CP from FTE, and one's from Australia, which could only be two possibilities, and I'm pretty sure it's Alana. Hey new readers! Someone else logged on from Hong Kong, which I think was a fluke since I don't know anyone in Hong Kong. Oh, and lest I leave you kids feeling all neglected and such, thanks to my true-blue regulars for coming back for more tripe every couple days. I'm happy to know that my typing strains don't go in vain. Vive le revolucion! Did anyone else watch Gilmore Girls this week? Wasn't Rory's new haircut adorable? So very Dana Scully. I think I am crushing on Alexis Bleidel. Hey, she's legal. She can even drink. Score! If only she'd stop with the hunching and slouching. For any of you on the East Coast, Vienna Teng, a talented, engaging, intelligent, and sweet piano singer songwriter will be playing a ton of shows with my college friend Kyler England. I gushed a bit about Kyler's new album in a previous entry, but I'll just say that she's like a blending of Sarah McLachlan's vulnerability, Paula Cole's strength, and Sheryl Crow's soul. They'll be playing together starting the 30th of October in MA at Club Passim, then at Iota in Arlington the 3rd of Nov, followed by Bryn Mawr and Philly on the 7th, and Maryland on the 9th *hint hint*, plus a passel of other dates. A very extremely strange coincidence is happening today concerning Kyler. She's playing with another college friend of mine, Laura Friedman aka Lalo, who is an extraordinary vibraphonist (she was featured on the October 12th Weekend All Things Considered on NPR) in Staunton, VA at Mary Baldwin College at 8 PM. 30 minutes before they go on, my favoritest singer-songwriter, Susan Werner, will be starting her own show at the Blackfriar's Playhouse IN THE SAME TOWN. Dude, that is such a killer dilemma for the music fans of Staunton. Now Listening To : Leona Naess-Anything Random Thought : Anyone have a job for me?
