June 18, 2004 - 5:30 AM Filler. Just Filler. Look, I know that it's been almost a week since I last updated with an entry here. And really, this isn't much of an entry in its own right. Just a space filler to let you know that I haven't given up on this writing thing and left you readers to fend for yourselves in the wastelands of the whatever. I've been busy, yeah. But not that busy. This Ramayana play is taking up my evenings, but my days and late nights are free, and I've been spending most of that free time imbibing baseball. Things are getting hot and heavy in the competitive league that contains me and Tony and Nick and Phil and a bunch of other swarthy fellows. With 600 bucks on the line, that has been the pimp to my bitch. For those in the L.A. area, I thought you might be interested in a few shows coming up that have MY interest (although a number of them I can't attend because of my commitment to Ramayana). We've got Juliana Hatfield at the Knitting Factory next wednesday, followed by The Dresden Dolls (highly recommended by many east coast friends of mine) at the Viper room on Thursday the 24th (I just visited the Viper Room for the first time this past Monday to see the Like again), and Melissa Ferrick (berklee alum who's got a mini-Ani Difranco cultlike following) at McCabes' on Friday and at Largo on Saturday. Then we spin off into July where Miss Sarah Slean has a residency at Genghis Cohen on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays and the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of the month. She's always interesting to see. And Anne Heaton, who was my favorite album purchase last year, will be at Genghis on the 29th of July. I have a good entry broiling in my brains that I hope to complete sometime this weekend. You will enjoy it. Or you will perish. And, dammit, doesn't anyone out there know how to design webpages, cuz I want to do a new design, but I'm too lazy to figure it all out myself? Now Listening To : The Like-Like It Or Not Random Thought : Rob, I finished the MP3 cd (finally) and it will be in the mail by saturday. What I Just Wrote Before - What I'm About to Write
