December 21, 2003 - 12:15 AM Shut the Fuck Up, Donnie! (you too, Pippin) LDBL and I are watching The Big Lebowski right now and righteously laughing our tookises off in the process. What a freakin' classic movie. The dialogue is dynamic and fresh and real. Unvarnished. Who doesn't love John Turturro as Jesus Quintana? "You don't fuck with the Jesus." The brilliance of the movie allows one to, well, not exactly forgive, but more to overlook the fact that Tara Reid is the primary instigatory force for the whole thing. Hmm...her, and the carpet. Yesterday was Lord of the Rings: Return of the King with Nick. I enjoyed it a lot more than The Two Towers, probably because it was less story/plot/exposition and more slam-bang action. I did get annoyed with all the unnecessary slow-motion work (or as Nick called it, "the John Woo stuff"), as well as the extended ending(s) that seemed to drag on forever (or as Nick referred to them, "the A.I. stuff"). Soph told me later that she had heard that at the end of the credits, there were even more extended endings. Anyone know if that's true or is anyone willing to sit through all the credits to check it out? Eh, I'll probably go see the movie again next week with my bro, sis, and mom when I'm home. Oh, and didn't we hear that line from Aragorn to Gandalf, "What does your heart tell you?", in Star Wars:The Phantom Menagerie from Shmi Skywalker to Anakin? Way to steal the crappiest lines from crappy movies, Peter Jackson and co. Hee hee. After the movie, Nick and I picked up LDBL to head out for dinner. I suggested Sizzler because Nick, in his famished state, had said "I'm hungry enough to eat a..." Not having finished his thought, perhaps because his mind was so impoverished from hunger, I filled in the blank with "horse", which led me to think "steak", and then "cheap steak." Thus, Sizzler. I hadn't been to a Sizzler in, probably, 15 years, but I knew there was one near the studio where I work. It actually ended up being pricier than I expected, with the salad bar included. But to be fair, it was tasty and filling, so I was happy. Plus, I had soft serve vanilla with apple pie for dessert which totally hit the spot. Hey, Denise, tell Melon that I had Soon Tubu with my aunt yesterday for lunch. And, yes, I've had it before. Although, I'd never had it where you crack the egg into it and let it poach before you consume the soup. Mmm...Korean food. I get to eat more of it soon!
